WHO ARE

A personable bunch of passionate and creative event organisers who have delivered hundreds of experiences for corporate and charity clients over the last 20 years.
We believe in close and open collaboration with our clients to help develop briefs and challenge creative vision, to design and produce exceptional results we can all be proud of. We have a wide skill set within the team and work with limitless enthusiasm and attention to detail ensuring our events result in exciting, engaging and unforgettable experiences for all those involved.

I've always loved the energy and excitement that comes with running live events, and have followed that passion for over 20 years in both the sports and corporate events industry. Hike Events has enabled me to use that experience to develop an amazing and talented team that I'm very proud of. We all feel incredibly fortunate to be able to work on our events, supporting heroes across the UK as they challenge themselves both physically and mentally whilst raising vital funds for charities. How lucky am I? In 2025 I'll once again get to work in some of the most stunning locations in the UK, with an amazing team, whilst helping raise almost £4m for UK charities.

Now let me introduce you to just a few of our team members - shown here on the site.

Jon has over 20 years experience running mass participation sporting events and has shared his expertise with the likes of Virgin Sport, IMG, CSM, Invictus Games and Challenger World. Outside of work Jon and his wife have completed numerous hiking challenges including the Pennine Way and the Lost City Trek in Colombia. Despite his Army Officer experience meaning he stands a little straighter that the rest of us, Jon is also the first and last on the dancefloor at any event after party.

Our highly organised and super positive Andy is a huge lover of all things outdoors. He naturally works with a boundless amount of warmth and care in his planning and onsite delivery, ensuring our marshal teams have the best experience and our participants are motivated even at the most challenging points in the course.

Upon discovering that some lucky people actually made a living out of organising expeditions and sporting events, Paul promptly quit his role in the corporate world and hasn’t looked back. As a result he has worked on expeditions around the world and has also filled every role from Route Guide to Event Director on many of the UK’s most iconic mass participation events. In his spare time whilst not working on expeditions and sporting events Paul likes to go on expeditions and take part in sporting events.

Our Mountain Leader Patrick has managed events ranging from mountain treks through to some of the UK’s most innovative ultra marathons. A self-confessed map geek, he enjoys designing routes that are challenging, interesting and achievable. His favourite personal hike to-date is the Torres del Paine circuit in Patagonia whilst closer to home he enjoys walking in Donegal, on Ireland's rugged North-West Coast.

Strategic thinker, master course planner, creative problem solver - Nick is a huge asset in the detailed planning side of our events. His caring and fun-loving nature means he's also brilliant at making sure our marshals and participants have the best time onsite. Obessesed with the detail, Nick loves nothing more than plotting speed/distance calculations whilst marking up event documents with 79 different coloured highlighters.

WHY
To give everyone an opportunity to take part
Walking is the UK’s most popular outdoor activity with almost no restrictions on who can take part. This is especially important for those who, because of health conditions or low levels of fitness, find other activities too challenging.
At Hike Events, we can support this through pre-event support and within the event by offering different distances/levels of difficulty to appeal to all ability levels.

To build relationships
Walking and talking come very naturally together and hike events provide oodles of opportunity for colleagues to build rapport and get to know each other better.
This heightened sense of camaraderie can deliver a range of benefits back in the workplace, including;

• Colleagues are more inclined to speak to, and support each other.
• There’s greater collaboration within and across teams.
• This improved level of communication leads to a happier and more productive working environment.
To improve physical & mental health & wellbeing
One of the best ways to exercise; hiking boosts bone density, tones and strengthens muscles, supports cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, and helps control weight.
It has also been proven to have positive effects on our mental health and well-being, enabling a connection with nature and a break from technology and the pace of modern living. Hiking with others boosts camaraderie, positively affecting mood, helping combat stress and anxiety.
Additionally, personal challenges such as hike events are inspiring and can positively impact a persons confidence and motivation.

To provide truly memorable experiences
We strive to supercharge your desired outcomes and create lifelong memories for all those taking part. And we have a whole host of options to help make that happen, including;
-
A huge choice of breathtaking event locations across the UK.
-
Your own 'Event Village' to truly excite and reward participants with amazing food, zumba warm ups, entertainment and live music.
-
Cycling options for an adrenalin packed ‘Hike & Bike’ event.
-
Competitive team challenges en-route testing mind and body to boost creativity and build great teams.
-
Wellbeing activities such as mindfullness, smoothie bikes, indian head massage and many more.
Post event we analyse and collaborate with you to gain a full insight into how well your desired outcomes were met, including what went well, where improvements can be made and where future opportunities exist.
Following our first meeting, we will keep you up to date on the project, including the event budget and operational timelines. Regular project calls/meetings will be set up and we can scale up or down our resources depending on your needs. Our aim is to make your event journey as simple, enjoyable and effective as possible.
We are a creative group that’s packed full of passionate problem solvers looking to constantly innovate. It's our purpose to take your brief and create incredible experiences that deliver results.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US

Working with Hike Events was an excellent partnership experience. I’ve worked with numerous event companies and agencies who miss the brief, work in isolation, and don’t represent good value. The Team at Hike Events are great professionals and are truly excellent at what they do. Their knowledge, support and understanding of charitable audiences really delivers experiences for supporters that live long in the memories and work on so many levels. I know the effort that goes in to make a great concept come to life, and it really is appreciated by supporters and staff alike
